Name: Kristina Quaranta
Title: Travel Consultant
I help out with corporate flights as well as assisting with school exchange trips. I’m also assisting the sports department with organising the trip to Paris for the Gay Games 2018.
I was studying at Ultimo and was told by one of my teachers there was a job opening at Exchange Me. She explained to me what Exchange Me involved and it seemed very exciting and interesting so I got in contact with them and organised an interview, and now I’m here!
I enjoy working with schools the most; it’s so much fun organising their tours and seeing where they’d like to travel. What’s even more exciting is that the high school I went to is working with us (Freeman Catholic College). So, Exchange Me will be planning their school trip to Italy next April! I also enjoying working with my work colleagues, they’re amazing, really nice and funny and were extremely welcoming on my first day!!
Before joining the Exchange Me Team, I worked at a retail sports shop (Intersport) and was also studying at Ultimo college. I have recently left the sports shop, I worked there for a total of 6 years. I’ve done work experience at the International Airport which included greeting international students into the country and assisting them with anything they needed. I also did work experience at Fantasea Cruising at the beginning of the year for 4 months. I worked in the office but also occasionally was able to go on some cruises, including a whale watching cruise.
Within Australia, my favourite place is Jervis Bay. I’m lucky enough to have a holiday house there so I spend majority of my summer holidays by the beach. Outside of Australia, my favourite place would have to be New York City! I’ve been there twice so far. New York is my favourite not only because of the shopping and food, but I also have family that live in Brooklyn and New Jersey. I love catching up with my family overseas!
3 places that are on my bucket list are England, Bora Bora & Greece. I’d love to visit Brighton and London. In Greece, I’d love to visit Mykonos, Santorini and Skopelos Island.
Have you ever tried red liquorice bullets covered in dairy chocolate? If not, you’re missing out. Them whilst watching Gossip Girl or Love Rosie. Your night is sorted.
I’m a very fussy person when it comes to food, I don’t like foods such as avocado and tomato. But the number one thing I probably will dislike forever is seafood!!! Not sure why, I’ve tried it multiple times but it never seems to satisfy me.
Although I was born in Sydney, when I was younger I could only speak Italian.
