St Scholastica’s College recently took their Dragon Boat team from Sydney to Hualien, Taiwan, to compete in an international U18 Dragon Boat competition and what an incredible experience it was!
Representing their school on the international stage, the students demonstrated determination, teamwork and sporting spirit throughout the competition, returning home with an incredible:
🥇 2 Gold Medals
🥈 1 Silver Medal
🥉 1 Bronze Medal
But this tour was about much more than the medals.
Competing overseas allows students to experience their sport in an entirely new environment. For the St Scholastica’s team, racing against international competitors in Taiwan created an exciting challenge while giving students the chance to represent their school on a global stage.
The competition took place at the stunning Liyu Lake in Hualien, providing an unforgettable backdrop for an exciting few days of racing.
The team's outstanding results were a fantastic reward for the hard work, commitment and teamwork they brought to the competition.
At Exchange Me, we believe the best international school sporting tours combine competition with meaningful cultural experiences.
Alongside their Dragon Boat competition, the St Scholastica’s group had the opportunity to discover Taiwan, experience its unique culture and explore some of the country's highlights.
The journey continued to Taipei, where students explored the city and experienced another side of Taiwan before returning home.
These experiences are an important part of travelling with a school team. Students aren't simply travelling overseas to compete, they're learning, exploring, building friendships and creating memories together.
For Exchange Me, organising an overseas sporting tour is about bringing all the pieces together.
From international competitions and sporting opportunities to accommodation, transport, cultural excursions and on-tour support, we work with schools to create tailor-made sporting tours that suit their students, their sport and their goals.
Our St Scholastica's Taiwan tour was a wonderful example of how sport can open the door to a much bigger international experience.
And, of course, coming home with four medals made it even more special!
